      Cabrini Connections Fundraising Tournament

                                  ** CABRINI MADNESS WILL BEGIN AGAIN IN JANUARY 2011 **

In anticipation of college basketball tournament season, Cabrini Connections is starting its own tournament. Each team consists of volunteers, students, staff, etc. and will compete to raise the most money before the championship game on April 5th. Check out the tournament bracket here.

Guidelines: 5-10 members per team. Must include at least (1) current or former volunteer, (1) current or former student, (1) current or former staff, volunteer coordinator, club leader, or board member, AND (1) person from outside the program (e.g. best friend, spouse, co-worker). Each team must also create a GiveForward page and join Cabrini Connections' group.

TIMELINE:

  • January 31 - Deadline for entry
  • Jan 31 - Deadline for GiveForward page
  • March 21 - First cut (Top 8 advance)
  • March 28 - Second cut (Top 4 advance)
  • April 3 - Third cut (Top 2 advance)
  • April 5 - Final cut (Winner chosen)
  • April 7/8 - Awards at tutoring

Grand prize: Individual trophies and a group gift certificate

from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants.

Runner-up prize: Pizza party

 

 

Tournament Updates

4/6 -GUARANTEED VICTORY defeats TEAM IMPECCABLE in the Championship Game to $6402 to $6120 become the 2010 Cabrini Madness FUNdraising Tournament CHAMPIONS!!!! The total amount raised in Cabrini Madness as of 4/5/2010 was $23,109.89.  The award presentation for the Cabrini Madness Tourney will take place April 14 and 15!!!!

3/22 -8 teams advance to the 2nd Round. TEMS, Give Hope, Passion's Team, DeJour's Team, Each One Reach One, Green Team, Team Impeccable, and Guaranteed Victory advance to the 2nd Round.  Congratulations!!!  We would like to THANK each and every member of the teams and ALL of their supporters...that remained in the first round.  ChangeMakers, The Awesomes, Pre-Paid, The LeBrons, and MaddHatters had a GREAT run and we hope you all will still work on the overall goal of the tournament which is $30,000, but more importantly will continue to do what they have been doing so far and that is advocating for the program to people in their network.

3/15 - Preparing for the Tourney Run. The end of the 1st Round will be at 11:59 pm on March 21st.  The top 8 teams (total amount brought in at that time) will move on to the Elite 8 Round.  The totals DO NOT reset at $0 and when going to the next round(s). The team overall total will remain the same throughout the tournament.  ALL teams who DO NOT make it to the past the first round CAN CONTINUE to raise money for their team, but will not be able to advance.  ALL TEAMS GiveForward pages are open and will not expire until April 6th. 

3/8 - Overall fundraising goal has been set at $30,000. We're already past $14,000 with about a month to go. Thank you for the support!
