To achieve its technology goals, the HSBC - North America Technology Center at Cabrini Connections utilizes the skills and talents of many volunteers. We need volunteers with skills in tech support, web and graphics design, blogging, online community building, and educators interested in helping our youth learn technology skills.

Our eLearning Goals

Students will learn to use the Internet as a social network. They already know how to find ideas on the Internet, but they should also know how to find people who will help them implement those ideas and solve problems in their personal and professional lives.

Students and volunteers will use the Internet to stay in touch with each other, and with Cabrini Connections, even after they have left the program.

Students, volunteers and staff will use online learning and collaboration tools to connect with people in similar roles at other programs and to grow as leaders.

Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection is a volunteer-based organization. This means volunteers and student interns have many important roles in the organization, not just as tutors/mentors.

In 2007-08 and 2008-09 we have been served by graduates from Northwestern University, who are part of a Public Interest Fellowship, in which the student works full time for a year at a minimal rate of pay.  The Fellow gains experience working in non profits, while the NPO gains talent to help it do its mission.
