Interns

Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection is a volunteer-based organization. This means volunteers and student interns have many important roles in the organization, not just as tutors/mentors.

In 2007-08 and 2008-09 we have been served by graduates from Northwestern University, who are part of a Public Interest Fellowship, in which the student works full time for a year at a minimal rate of pay.  The Fellow gains experience working in non profits, while the NPO gains talent to help it do its mission.

Technology opportunities.

For the past two years students from IIT, University of Michigan and Indiana University have spent from one week, to six weeks, working with Cabrini Connections. A primary focus has been to create video, flash and graphic design updates that improve the communications of information on the Tutor/Mentor Connection web sites.

 South Korea Webquest
 Soccer Webquest

Above are two exchange students from Korea, Jaekyu Lee and Geunjae Lee, who were with Cabrini Connections in January 2008. They created a Webquest that will allow students to explore interesting information about Korea, and that illustrates how such projects can guild visitors through the information on our web sites.
