Innervision Youth Productions

Innervision Youth Productions (IYP) is a video creation project connecting teens and volunteers, which began at Cabrini Connections in 1996. Every year since then 7th to 12th grade students enrolled in the Cabrini Connections Tutor/Mentor Program in Chicago, IL have been able to work on video creation projects with volunteers from Chicago's film/video and arts community.  This is part of the organization's Success Steps strategy.

History of IYP

Since1996, a variety of volunteers have provided the leadership needed to enable Cabrini Connections students and other volunteers to work together to create videos that are screened at an annual Video Festival and entered into a variety of student video competitions.  You can view a few of the videos which have been created on YouTube and Google - see http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=cabrini+connections .  One of our first students, Tramaine Montel Ford, was a part of the cast of the 2007 Hairspray Movie. On his blog, he shows that he got his start in acting with Cabrini Connections.

World Premier: Cabrini Green: Times of CHAnge.  Since 2005 Cabrini Connections' students  and volunteers have been working on a documentary showing the changes taking place in the Cabrini Green area, due to gentrification and the tear-down of public housing. The completed video was shown for the first time during the February 8th, 2008, Arts/Video Festival, held at the Palette and Chisel, 1012 N. Dearborn Chicago IL 60610.  Copies of the video can be purchased for $10 (if you pick them up at Cabrini Connections, or $20, if ordered by mail).   Email info1@cabriniconnections.net to order a copy.
 

Film and Video Production Volunteers Needed
